upcoming exhibition: rosedale art fair

I would like to invite you to join me this weekend at the Rosedale Art Fair, my first in-person art fair since September 2019! I’m particularly excited because this show will mark my first time exhibiting The Fine Art of Dance portfolio. I even had postcards made for the show!

Besides exhibiting my work for sale, I will also be painting in my booth during the Rosedale Art Fair. If you’ve ever wanted to learn about the painting process, please stop by! I am very much looking forward to starting a colour study of local champions Dmytro Gurkov and Celeste Bailey that I will be using to prepare for a large scale painting. The preliminary drawing is based on an image of Dmytro and Celeste dancing at Blackpool in 2019. Painting Dmytro and Celeste is not only a treat, but an honour. When they competed professionally at Blackpool earlier this year, they came in 3rd in American smooth, and 2nd in American rhythm. I love the opportunity to paint elite level dancers, and the fact that Dmytro and Celeste are local makes this work feel particularly special.

This is the drawing that I will be using to start a colour study of Dmytro & Celeste at the Rosedale Art Fair.

My booth number has not been assigned yet, but I will be somewhere in Ramsden Park, just north of downtown.

All of the work featured on the Fine Art of Dance website will be available for sale during the show. If you are interested in any piece in particular, please feel free to email me prior to the show at shannon@fineartofdance.com for additional information.

Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day!
